How does buying beef work?Step 1. RESERVE: Call, email, or complete the reservation request form to reserve your beef share today.
Step 2: PROCESS: After letting your beef share dry-age to maximize flavor and tenderness, your butcher will contact you to customize your cutting instructions. You will receive processed beef to your personal specifications to fit your use. Check out our helpful order guide and beef cuts pages to find out about your choices. Step 3. PICK-UP: Get ready to have premium angus beef on demand in your home. Your butcher will call when your beef share is ready for pick-up. |
How much will it cost?Beef shares are sold by their "hanging" weight—the weight of the dry-aged carcass before trimming fat and bone from the meat. Our price to raise and finish a beef will vary, please contact us for our current pricing. As an example, let's take the price per pound of hanging weight to be $2.30. To process or butcher your beef will cost between $0.75-0.85/lb hanging weight.
Your approximate total cost for half a beef (with a hanging weight of 400 lbs) is $1220. 00, and will yield about 260 lbs of processed beef. |
How much freezer room do I need?The rule of thumb is one cubic foot of freezer space for every 25 pounds of packaged meat.

Approximately how many people will my beef feed?Having premium angus beef in your freezer will leave you ready for any meal, big or small.

Can my beef share be delivered?YEP. So you don't happen to live in eastern Kansas? Your beef share can be delivered to your front door, that is, anywhere in the contiguous 48 states.
We work with Woodson County Prime Meats so your premium beef share can be shipped directly from our farm to your fork. The cost to ship beef will vary, contact us to get a shipping estimate. |
Do you offer Vacuum Sealing?INDEED. We work with local processors who offer both vacuum sealing as well as traditional paper packaging.
By vacuum sealing your beef share you gain longer storage times with less moisture loss, but your processing fees will go up some. |
How should I have my beef cut? Can you help?We're happy to help. Our goal is to equip you with the information you need to customize your beef share just the way you want.
Your butcher will call you for cutting instructions once the beef is ready for processing. Our local butchers are great resources for you, so don't be afraid to ask them any questions you might have.
