How does buying beef work?Step 1. RESERVE: Call, email, or complete the reservation request form to reserve your beef share today.
Step 2: PROCESS: After letting your beef share dry-age to maximize flavor and tenderness, your butcher will contact you to customize your cutting instructions. How much will it cost?Beef shares are sold by their "hanging" weight—the weight of the carcass immediately after butcher. Our price to raise and finish a beef will vary, please contact us for our current pricing. As an example, let's take the price per pound of hanging weight to be $3.50. To butcher your beef will cost approximately 1.15/lb hanging weight.
Your approximate total cost for half a beef (with a hanging weight of 400 lbs) is $1860. 00, and will yield about 220 lbs of processed beef, depending on your cutting instructions. |
How much freezer room do I need?The rule of thumb is one cubic foot of freezer space for every 25 pounds of packaged meat.
